Utility Telephone Connects with Creative Interconnect Communications

STOCKTON, CA, – March 6, 2012 – Utility Telephone, Inc. (Utility), the premier integrated provider of
business telecommunications in California and Northern Nevada, announced today a definitive
agreement to acquire the customer base and network assets of San Carlos-based Metro Ethernet
and Hosted VoIP provider Creative Interconnect Communications, LLC (CIC). Under the terms of the agreement, Utility will acquire customers primarily in the San Francisco Peninsula market and will add seven collocations (including two inside datacenters) to Utility’s existing footprint.

“This is a strategic acquisition for us,” said Jason Mills, Founder, and CEO of Utility Telephone. “Over the last 15 years we’ve engineered an unparalleled network up and down the Pacific Coast, but CIC’s assets will complement our presence in the Bay Area. Beyond the network asset expansion, we are thrilled to welcome a new group of customers who can rest assured they will be taken care of with the same dedication to personal service they know and deserve.”

Utility continues to expand in an otherwise down economy. In December of 2011 Utility acquired US TelStar’s customer base in Santa Rosa, and in 2010 brought on the assets of Minden, Nevada-based WPTI Telecom, LLC. However, the bulk of Utility’s growth and continually stable position as a CLEC comes more from its long tradition of uncompromising standards of customer service and dedicated personal sales practices.

“The reason we are able to continue to grow while keeping our customers satisfied is our focus on the customer experience. We keep our Customer Care staff, technicians and engineers local so we have a greater understanding of the businesses and communities we serve,” said Mills. “We are pleased Mr. Wilde will be joining our staff and sharing his expertise with customers from the San Carlos office as our Director of Sales Engineering.”

“There is no other company I trust to take care of our customers,” said Bill Wilde, President of CIC. “Utility Telephone has an exceptional reputation in the industry. I’ve personally seen their dedication to keeping up with the most cutting-edge technology and leading by example through their customer service practices.”

This transaction is subject to closing terms and conditions, including regulatory approvals, expected in Q1 2012. Following approval, customers will experience no degradation of service and transfer to Utility’s systems will be expertly executed.
